Maxwell is currently enjoying a warm welcome from fans for his new CD BLACKsummer'snight. The project debuted at Number One of the Billboard 200 last week and slipped to Number Two this week. His first studio project in eight years features the hit singles "Pretty Wings" and "Bad Habits."
The singer-songwriter says that a number of things had changed during his eight-year hiatus, including how music is bought and sold. Maxwell explained: "The landscape of our industry had changed so dramatically. I mean, music and how music was sold and how music was perceived -- the value of music and what it actually meant to the consumer changed like in a way that it had never been. I don't think it's ever been seen so casually by society in terms of how people purchase it or experience it or get it. That was a little daunting."
Maxwell rolls into Atlantic City, New Jersey on July 24th for a show at the Borgata Hotel & Casino.
