Guitarist Peter White has created a selection of original compositions for his brand-new CD titled Good Day. It's his first CD since 2007's Playing Favourites and his first for the Peak label.
Asked if he had a theme in mind for the project, White says the theme kind of showed up inadvertently. He told us: "There never really has been a theme when I've gone in to make an album. The theme sometimes comes out of the music, except for the covers albums and that was -- the theme was I'm playing all other people's songs. This album there really wasn't a theme, the theme came out of the song titles, actually. If you'll notice the first song is 'Good Day' and the very last song is called 'Say Goodnight.' I thought, 'Wow, this is like a day in the life, isn't it?' "
The first single from the new set is "Good Day," which White co-wrote with Michael Egizi. The track features an appearance by keyboardist Phillippe Saisse.
