The Detroit International Jazz Festival (DJF) is now accepting submissions from Detroit-area (within 150 mile radius of Detroit, MI) musicians for performance slots at the 31st annual Detroit International Jazz Festival, Labor Day Weekend (September 3 – 6, 2010). In an effort to enhance the festival's greening initiative established in 2009, DJF is embarking on an electronic-only submission process.
Submissions in Jazz, Blues, Latin, Funk, Gospel, R&B and Avant-garde will be accepted exclusively through
Sonicbids.com. All electronic press kits must be submitted by
Friday, February 26, 2010. Selected artists will be announced in June.
Detroit Jazz Festival staff members, Terri Koggenhop and John Roberts, will host a Q & A session at The Detroit Federation of Musicians Local 5 (Southfield, MI) on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 7 p.m. This session will provide a detailed explanation of the new electronic submission process.
