Flutist and Smooth Jazz V98.7 Morning Host Alexander Zonjic releases his new album, Doin' The D, today (Tuesday, June 23rd) on Heads Up International. Featured with the classically trained flute star are top players including Jeff Lorber, James Lloyd, Brian Bromberg, Kenny G, Maysa, Ken Navarro, Bob James, Dwight Sills and the Motor City Horns. Zonjic tells us what it was like to team up with Lorber for the new set: "Jeff Lorber is the primary producer on this new project, and if I back up through the years, you'll see the collaborations where Kirk Whalen was a big part of my projects for years. Bob James was a big part of my projects for years. So it's always been different people. It starts with collaborating with who the primary producer is going to be. In this case it's Jeff Lorber, and me making a commitment to him. He's a great composer. He's written great songs, which are on this record. And we share a lot of interests in terms of music."
His last release, Seldom Blues, came out in 2004.
